Elizabeth Hartman Quilt Sewing Pattern Norm & Nanette Gnomes

This is a patchwork pattern. All fabric is rotary cut and sewn together using conventional patchwork piecing.

This pattern also includes diagrams and charts showing all of the pieces needed to make each block. You can use these as a reference while making the pattern projects, or as a guide for making individual blocks and scrappy projects.

Norm and Nanette’s hats are made using the full-size cutting guide on Page 22 of the pattern. The piecing instructions include using the cutting guide to cut the hats to size, sewing slightly-too-large pieces of background fabric to the sides, and then trimming the pieced unit to the correct size. This method makes it easier to piece the pointy Hat Units without having to match multiple points.
